Personal Statement
I have been in love with basketball for as long as I can remember. Though I have always been a 3-sport athlete, it is basketball that is my true passion. My basketball skills and understanding of the game have always been something in which I have taken the greatest pride, but because as a younger player I was just of average height, I never thought my love of playing basketball could extend past my high school years. Big changes happened, however, within the last 3 years, and I have now been blessed to reach a current height of 6? 5?. I know now that I have both the physical and mental abilities to play the game I love at the collegiate level.
I started my sophomore season playing off the varsity bench. I progressed to being the ?6th man?, until the second half of my sophomore season when Coach Hoffman gave me the honor of starting for my varsity team. I have never looked back. I truly appreciate every game in which I get to represent my school and play the game I love. The skills I have acquired in playing basketball, like teamwork, leadership, diligence, coachability and maximum effort guide my life both athletically and academically. It is my greatest desire to become part of a program that will help me grow in these important life skills. I know I would be a tremendous asset to your program and institution!
