Personal Statement

My name is Vance Katzfey, and I am no stranger to hard work. My hustle and effort are on display with every rebound, every steal and every defensive pressure. And I look forward to putting that hard work in with my college studies, as I carry over a 3.68 GPA and college preparatory classes to a Business Administration degree, and a successful career in the business world.

On the basketball court I was All-Substate, first team all conference, and started as shooting guard, averaging 20 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals and 2.5 assists per game. My high school, Boyden-Hull, won the Siouxland Conference and was ranked 2nd in the state in division 2A. I also was MVP and leading scorer at the American State Bank High School All-Star Game. My AAU team was the South Dakota Attack most recently, and Martin Brothers before that.

On the football field I was All District Academic Team, starting at wide receiver and defensive back on the Iowa state runner up Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley team.

I also ran track all four years, qualifying twice for Drake Relays and was a state qualifier in the 400m in 2021.

And finally, I enjoy giving back to the community as a Mass altar server, Meals on Wheels volunteer, Knights of Columbus Persons with Intellectual Disabilities Drive worker, and helping with various church fundraisers and events, including Mary’s Meals.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
