Personal Statement
After spending 5 years as a Junior Olympic competitive gymnast and winning the Iowa State Compulsory All Around Gymnastics title in 2012 I left the gym for a court...the court was a volleyball court and I have never looked back. Being a former gymnast I believe that sport prepared me to succeed in other sports and ultimately I fell in love with the game of volleyball. I am a competitive hard worker who is never satisfied and will stop at nothing to achieve a goal on or off the court....I strive every day to become a better volleyball player. Volleyball has brought out the best in me, forcing me to be vocal and a leader for my team. My true strengths are my resilience on the court and work ethic during practice. My dream is to continue playing Division I volleyball and attend a school I can succeed academically.
For volleyball you don ’t have to be tall or as fast. You just have to have the skills. ~ Misty May Treanor
To go from where you are to where you want to be - you have to have a dream, a goal, and you have to be willing to work for it. ~Jim Valvano
