Jake Hilmer '19 Recruiting Profile

My ultimate goal is to play Division I basketball for a school that really wants me. Although I am only 5' 11" right now at the end of my sophomore year, I know I have a lot to offer any basketball program. My quickness and passing ability set me apart from other players. I am a team first player and do all I can to make my teammates better. I am a faith driven young man with high standards and moral character. For this reason I can provide great positive leadership on and off the court. I am a very good student with a 3.6 GPA and am committed to continuing that success in college. I have led our high school team to a 48-3 record the past two seasons and play on the Iowa Barnstormers 16U team that is ranked #12 nationally. My coaches trust me with the ball in my hands at the end of every close game and that is something I have really enjoyed. I have a passion for the sport of basketball and consider myself a coach on the floor. Having my dad as a high school coach has helped me tremendously because I was able to learn the game from a young age. Again, it is my goal to find a great fit at the Division 1 level and continue my basketball career beyond high school.
