Dear Prospective Coach(es),
I developed a love for basketball before I started school. Throughout my school years, basketball has been my primary focus. I love every aspect of the game and the competition. My strongest characteristics are competitiveness, dedication, hard-working, self-motivated and a healthy balance of confidence and humility.
I hope to have the opportunity to be part of a collegiate team. I am in the high school gym at 6:30 in the morning before school, work with an athletic trainer every week and head to the local basketball gym as often as possible to work with my AAU coach and teammates. I have made strong, lifelong connections with teammates and look forward to continuing these relationships and making new ones. Supporting my teammates on the court and celebrating their successes and our team's successes along with talented players, is the culture I believe creates a strong team.
I received SMAA Rookie of the Year as a Freshman, Second-Team All Conference as a Sophomore and First-Team All Conference as a Junior.
In addition to my hard work on the court, I have taken challenging advanced placement courses throughout high school, currently have a cumulative GPA of 97 and was inducted into the National Honor Society my Junior year. My competitive nature is evident both on and off the court. I have many interests and am undecided on a major for college.
Finally, I have been recognized as a leader in my high school. I received a leadership award for physical education, I am the captain of our Varsity basketball team as a Junior, received a nomination and scholarship for our Rotary Youth Leadership Association Summer Camp and was selected for a local Boys to Men educational event.
Thank you for your consideration,
Ashton Leclerc
