I was raised in an academic first sports second atmosphere at home. Sports was used by my family as a extra curricular activity and away to give my brother and myself some exercise at a younger age. My love for basketball grew not only from playing but watching my older brother play who is five years older. His work ethic was contagious and watching his teams play while I was younger grew my understanding of the game and increased my Basketball IQ. My parents saw the love I had for the game and always from the beginning would preach the importance of school first. I knew if I wanted to play I had to get the grades and every since elementary school I've made Honor Roll each quarter with exception of one through the second quarter of the ninth grade, which I'm presently in the 3rd quarter of my freshman year of high school. My brother is still my biggest inspiration as he currently attends Wesley College and plays both football and Baseball on collegiate level. I can honestly say I get it and appreciate the real meaning of Student Athlete.
