My love for volleyball started when my cousin who lived with us introduced me to the game. She played volleyball in high school and college, and was the head volleyball coach at a high school in my city. In 7th grade, I tried out for a club team but did not make the roster. That was fuel for me to learn more about the mechanics and rules of the game. I attended a week-long Nike camp and several local skills clinics. The following season I was a starter on a 14U club team, and subsequently starting varsity while in high school and playing for club
While playing volleyball I have gained great friendships with my club and school teammates and developed my skills as a outside hitter, middle hitter and opposite. While volleyball is a big part of my life, I have been able to maintain academic excellence and a great social life.
My goal is to continue playing at a level that will challenge me to continue to grow in the sport. In addition, I desire that the academics are equally challenging and competitive. I strive to do and be the best at what I do. And, I encourage those around me to do the same.
