My goal is to attend a college or university where I can complete my college degree within four years and use my degree to begin a successful career or go on to graduate school. I love playing sports and to me it would be my ultimate dream to attend a college where I can be both successful academically and participate at the highest level of basketball. I feel I am a strong team player who always looks for ways to contribute to the team by making the whole team successful. Playing varsity level basketball as a freshman helped me quickly understand the speed and physical part of high school basketball. During the summer months between my freshman and sophomore year in 2016, I had the opportunity to play up a level for the MN Basketball Academy-Witthus. We were a very successful 16U AAU basketball team playing over 40 games from spring into the summer winning two of the tournaments we played in several states. Playing AAU gave me the chance to play against some of the top teams in the country and gave me the confidence of competing against other highly skilled players. Following each game or tournament win, my mother always keeps me humble by reminding me that there is always someone bigger, stronger, and faster than me and that is the motivation that pushes me to continue to develop my basketball skills and continue to build a higher level of confidence on the court. Last night, our high school basketball season just started for Mayer Lutheran with a strong victory and I am looking forward to a successful season. What I feel makes me different from other players is my length, shooting and dribbling skills, vertical jumping ability and court awareness. I enjoy making an awesome pass to another team player just as much as dunking the ball through traffic or making a difficult step back shot or three-pointer. I have been surrounded by some excellent coaches, attended several basketball camps, and have two older brothers who have played very physical basketball against me since I was 5 years old. My family has always been a big part of my life and has given me some great opportunities to develop my basketball skills and enjoy the game. To play basketball at the college level would be a dream come true.
