Basketball is something that i have been playing since I was 3 years old. I parents use to give me a ball when I was a baby, so when I started to walk, I knew the ball. Basketball has played a significant part of my life from early childhood. I have participated in several basketball camps when I was younger and continued that when I got older by competing in AAU tournaments starting in the 6th-7th grade. I have had the opportunity of starting Varsity Point/Shooting guard since my freshman year of high school with my coach’s support and motivation, I have held that same title. This sport has become a huge aspect of my identity, personality, and goals. I enjoy the game and what it brings to the table, teamwork, and dedication. Playing basketball has shaped me into the person I am today. With being apart of the sport and having several different coaches to mentor me, I've learned invaluable life lessons about leadership and the importance of working as a team to accomplish the goal. With hard work I have progressed academically and mentally. I am now focused on working harder and building myself to be better on and off the court. I have volunteered for several school journalist activities and is starting to engage in college coach communication. I understand that basketball has become a potential pathway to college, and other opportunities. Having these qualities not only contribute to my success on the court but also serves as a foundation for my academic pursuits. I would love to pursue a career in Sports Medicine with a minor In Business Management. As I push myself and improve my skills to develop a deeper understanding of the game basketball and what it intel’s for me to evolve. Basketball has, is, and will play a crucial element of my journey towards higher education and opportunities.
