Personal Statement
Life is simply not easy. Everyone faces trials in life, some are innate and others are environmental. Whatever the case may be, one must choose whether to overcome or be defeated by these trials. At a young age, I was diagnosed with auditory processing disorder which made learning more difficult. In grade school, I was made fun of for having a private tutor outside of class. But today, as I look back at it, it was a blessing in disguise. At a very young age, this disorder taught me a strong work ethic. I work very hard for my grades and succeed in the classroom. I attend a college prep high school where education is the main focus. It was hard work and determination that got me through. These same traits were shown in athletics. God has blessed me with an athletic ability that not a lot of individuals possess. I am a three sport athlete with recognition in three sports. Spending a majority of my time playing sports, it’s very difficult to balance that with school work. Being a student athlete comes with great responsibility and develops a great work ethic. Overall, I am a sports fanatic who would love to go to a school whose sports teams compete at the highest level. What truly separates me is my work ethic and hunger to be successful. Because of these traits, I will be an asset to any team or institution that I a part of.
