Hi my name is Roman Wassink and I attend Clymer Central School, a small, class D school in a rural town in western New York. I first fell in love with the sport of basketball when I was seven years old. I'm a 6’5' power forward who can also play a guard. I have strong ball handling skills and can also knock down the 3. I am an 85% free throw shooter. I have great court awareness and court vision. I strive to communicate with my team and to be the best possible teammate that I can be. I am in my second year of AAU travel basketball playing power forward and/or center for B.Edwards Elite. My favorite part of basketball is getting to grow my skill and play with my teammates. I am a leader both on and off the court. I'm an honor's student. I've been treasurer of my class for three of the past three years. I'm also treasurer for Clymer school’s entrepreneurship food truck class. I'm secretary for our high school chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). I am a three time district 13 1st place winner and a 2x win New York state champion, qualifying for nationals in Atlanta, Georgia. My biggest supporters are my parents and siblings who push me constantly to give it my all in everything that I do. My dream is to go D1 and major in some sort of hospitality as I love dealing face to face with customers. When I'm not in school or playing basketball, I stay busy by working on our school's food truck. I also work at a local ski/golf resort. When I'm not working, I volunteer for FBLA with their local food drive. I also volunteer/recruit donors for our Red Cross blood drive held at our school. I am a member of my church’s youth group and volunteer with church activities.
