Carter Abernethy '26 Recruiting Profile

I am currently in the class of 2026 at Long Island Lutheran Middle & High School. I am a combo guard that can score on all three levels and can defend all positions at the high school level. Whether it is on the court, or off, I always find a way to succeed and encourage my teammates to be the best on the court. My work ethic speaks for itself.  I am the top scorer in the games 90 percent of the time. I am leader on and off the court and believes that it takes hard work and determination to succeed and win. This pushes me to always be game ready and prepared. This past year I played with the Boo Williams 2026 Elite team which competes with the top teams in the country. Next year I will play for the Boo Williams 15 EYBL team.

Offense: I am a scorer on all levels and can finish at the rim strong. I have great court vision and a high basketball IQ.  My shooting percentage is high from the long and mid range. I am also a good ball handler who makes good decisions. 

Defense and Rebounding:  I am a lock down defender that can guard any position. With my ability to adapt to game situations coaches find me an asset on the defensive end.  I am great rebounder who averages about 9 rebounds a game. 

As an 8th grader I competed on varsity high school level. This past year I made All-Conference and All Tournament team. Also, I was  named Most Valuable Player for our team. Top Spot Basketball rankings had me listed 86 on the Preseason Top 100 National Rankings. Recently I was invited and attended the Phenom Freshman Top 40 Camp in North Carolina. I have been invited next July and plan to attend the 2023 Phenom top 150 National camp July 27th-30th.  I am looking forward for the next few years to keep working on my game and compete at a college level.
