My name is Jonathan Lamartine and I am a Junior at Christ the King High School located in New York City. The school is knwon for his acaqdemic standing and preparing students for college and life after High School. ---percentage of their seniors get accepted to college. Education is very important to me and my family. The coaches and the entire school community at Christ the King put a lot of emphasis on academics to make sure that students athletes are prepared for college. Even though I want to do better academically, I have a cumulative grade point average of 86.6 so far. I will continue to work hard to maintain or improve on that GPA.
I have been attending the school since freshman year and I have played for the freshman team, the JV team last year, and this year I am a member of the Varsity team. When I was a member of Freshman team I was a starter, getting a lot of rebounds, sometimes I played the whole game and most of the times, I played for at least 25 minutes. I average 8 PPG, shooting 54% from the 3 point line and 67% overall. I also averaged 11 RPG, 3 APG and 4 SPG. I also played for a couple of Traveling/AAU teams. This had given me the opportunity to play against the best player in the country since these tournaments are in different States.
Playing with different teams had given me the opportunity to not only meet new friends but also interact with coaches of different styles and personalities. I have never had any problems relating or interacting with any of these coaches. In class or on the court I try my best to follow the directives of my teachers or my coaches.
I would like to play Basketball in college on a full scholarship. However, to prepare for life after basketball I am interested studying Sports Management in College. I am looking for a College that is a right fit for the position that I play on the court. In addition, I would like to be in a place that could help me grow as a person and as an Athlete. Hopefully, I will play in the professional league.
