Kobe Bryant once said “Everything negative - pressure, challenges - is all an opportunity for me to rise”. This quote really hit me because his life impacted a lot of people and it’s something I’ll never forget. He is so inspirational to me because of everything he has accomplished not only in basketball, but also in life. I love to play basketball. I've been on the school team for 2 years which will be 3 if they have any this year. I loved waking up early before everyone “in my house, ” so I could practice. I enjoyed running 4 flights of stairs for 30 minutes, making plays such as three Man Weave so that our team could play better in games. While waking up at 5 am in the morning. I show my hard work in both ways, school and basketball. It's important to balance everything, because if I don't get good grades, then if I don’t get good grades then I won’t be able to play games for the team. Unfortunately, during this pandemic I can’t go anywhere to play basketball, so I use this time to really focus on my school work.
Basketball has affected my life by being determined to do whatever it takes to be good in life. It shows me winning in life is a gift and losing is a way to learn and get back up. It also shows me to not give up, on court and off the court. Off the court I really try my best to get good grades and try to get a scholarship so then I could help my parents and me by not letting them pay a lot for college. This is the Kobe effect. Every morning I wake up still now during the pandemic. These experiences taught me to be humble in situations and to be grateful for everything u have and get. These are my strengths that I possess in my life, and Hopefully one college gives me some type of a scholarship when I apply to a college and which I will use my strengths in whatever college I go to study my career.
