I’ve dedicated my entire life to fulfilling my dream of playing basketball at a collegiate level. I took my first steps around the age of 2 and precociously started to dribble the ball at the mere age of 5. As soon as I could take my first shot, I knew that basketball was my passion. As I spent more time on the court, I began to realize that only hard work and putting in the utmost amount of effort would get me to where I wanted to go. Throughout my 16 years of existence, I have spent countless hours studying the way others play the game and working on my perfecting my craft, in hopes that one day I will be a strong enough player to participate in the NCAA. When I was old enough to participate in basketball competitively, I would play every game like it was my last and make sure to leave it all on the court. I have always had the will to win and an impeccable work ethic. I take constructive criticism and advice with alacrity at all times, on and off the court. I am confident that with my years of hard work, I have become a player worthy of YOUR consideration and time. Since I believe that my college basketball experience is what I make it, I am open to any options that come my way. However, I want to choose a school that will push me to the best of my ability on and off the court.
As a prominent leader on all of my basketball teams, I put my teammates needs first, and support them on and off of the court. A few of my many strengths on the court are not only defense and passing but also, my extremely high basketball IQ. This previous varsity season of 2014-2015, I lead my team and the league that we participate in, in assists. My participation was one of the key factors that led my team to a three seed in the playoffs. In a game where fearlessness is essential, I have learned to focus on being a strong defender and guarding ANYONE approaching the hoop. I have a strong handle and an impressive mid range jump shot. I also have the ability to shoot from beyond the key with ease. This summer, with lots of gym time, I hope to become a knock down shooter over this coming summer and during the off-season.
Academically, I am just as focused and determined. I am striving for a 3.5 GPA or higher as I start my transition from high school to college, in my last 2 years at the Calhoun School in New York City. I am well prepared to take the SATs and the ACTs this year. I am more than willing to adapt to any basketball program and will come ready to win. From age 5 to today, my dream and goal remains the same. I want to play at the highest level of basketball that I can reach. I hope to take my skills and talent to college and live the dream of becoming a successful person in and out of basketball
