My name is Daniel Sánchez, and I’m currently a senior at The Calhoun School in New York City. I hope to play soccer in college; in fact, it’s hard to imagine the next four years without the sport in my life. Soccer has been my first love since I was eight years old, and since moving to the United States from Colombia in 2018, I’ve played as a forward for both my school team and my club teams. I played for Clash in the Manhattan Soccer Club until June 2022, and this school year, I’m playing for Freedom, the A team in the same club.
In my 2022 season at Calhoun, I was honored as the Most Valuable Player of the NYCAL league, and I went to Nationals in San Diego with my club team. I’ve also had the privilege of serving as the assistant soccer coach for the Calhoun Boys Varsity team, where I helped younger players grow and contributed to the team’s overall success.
Outside of soccer, I’m deeply passionate about business. I’m currently studying business management at Boston University and actively working on a larger business project that combines innovation with real-world application. My experience includes involvement in multiple entrepreneurial ventures and working as a logistics specialist and driver at BMW in 2023, where I gained hands-on experience in operations and teamwork. I come from a family with a strong business background—my father, Felipe Sánchez, was the CEO of Cargomaster, which has inspired me to pursue leadership and entrepreneurial opportunities.
Soccer and business have shaped me into a driven, team-oriented individual who strives for excellence in every endeavor. You can find my highlight reel linked in my profile.
