Matthew Pethel '23 Recruiting Profile

I am a Junior at Christ School in Asheville, North Carolina.  I am 6'6" and play the forward, center, and small forward postions. I can do a multitude of things including pass, rebound, block shots, and score inside and outside.  Settling for average is never something I strive to do. Whether it be on the basketball court or in the classroom, I always strive to be the best version of myself that I can be. I am driven by a competitive fire that is constantly pushing me to go beyond what is comfortable or what I thought was possible. I feel I can play basketball at any level there is, because no matter what I want to win more than the guy across from me. Outside of the court, I'm willing to make sacrifices if it means that I'll get that much more of an edge. No matter where I go to school, my goal is to leave that program knowing that it wasn't the same one as when I arrived. I don't want to just play basketball, I want to be a part of a family and establish a culture.
