My name is Tristan Sawin, and I am in the 2026 graduating class (currently 10th grade) at Carolina International School, Concord, NC and I live in Kannapolis, NC. I am interested in pursuing an Engineering degree in college. I have always maintained a GPA above 3.5 and I currently take multiple AP courses. I am a go-getter, and I continuously try to be better by learning, listening, practicing, and implementing skills. I consider myself to be a well-rounded individual, excelling academically, in sports, and as a maturing teenager. I am competitive but compassionate. I have a strong family upbringing and value the life lessons taught to me daily by my parents.
I have always loved basketball - my first word spoken was "ball". I have been playing basketball since Middle School. I even played soccer in Middle School as extra training for basketball. I aspire to play college basketball. I also recently earned my Lifeguard Certification from the Kannapolis, NC YMCA and will be starting my first job there in February 2024.

I love basketball because it is a team sport. I do not believe in being a selfish player or team member. I can only get better by ensuring that my team gets better. Playing on different teams over the past few years has helped me become a better player and person. I work hard, play smart, and when given the opportunity, I rise to the occasion. I believe that I can be a good addition to your program. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
