Personal Statement
I am a responsible and ambitious student athlete with excellent work ethic and leadership skills. I am excited to attend college and continue my academics with a focus on Business & Business Management. I have a strong desire to continue my basketball career at the collegiate level and work incredibly hard at advancing my game in various ways.
As a player, I have a natural tendency to lead both through my words and actions. I have been consistently asked to captain teams in the sports I competed. 2020 / 2021 sets up to be an amazing year. We have 5 DI players and the team will be ranked Nationally. I'm honored to be a TEAM CAPTAIN and plan to help lead us to the State Championship!
My 2020 Varsity season was one of the best experiences of my life. With 5 division one commits on our roster, including 5 new players, I worked my way to the eventual starting lineup leading the team in shooting (43% from 3) and being recognized by my teammates as the highest character player on the team.
In 2019, I was honored to be on the Varsity team as a sophomore and we won the State Championship and finished in the top 25 teams nationally.
The practices at Carmel Christian are very intense. I have to prove I can protect the ball and make the right decisions under pressure. My coaches preach defense and I take pride in my ability to pressure the ball all 94 feet! My best skill is my shooting (range and accuracy) and this environment proved that my shooting could differentiate me against the best. This experience made me a better player and taught me what it will take to compete at the college level.
