Personal Statement
Growing up with three older athletic and competitive brothers, everything in our house was a competition. Whether it was an actual game of basketball or football in the front yard, or who could get up the stairs the fastest, I have been competing my whole life. I don't just compete in sports because it's fun, but because I want to win and succeed in everything I do, whether it be grades, sports, or being a great person. That unique mentality has been instilled in me since the beginning and it won't ever leave.
I've been playing basketball since I could walk, and it has helped me throughout my life. Basketball has taught to never quit, and when you get knocked down, always get back up stronger. After I broke my right and dominant arm for the third time playing basketball, and was out my entire season, I was heartbroken. However, two years later, I could not be more thankful. That injury strengthened my basketball skill, especially with my left arm and it gave me a unique sense of confidence and strong leadership on and off the court. I'm looking for a college that believes in me and wants what I have to offer. I believe I have what it takes to compete at the college level and be a valuable asset to any program I am apart of!
