Personal Statement
I've always dreamed of playing college basketball. I am a tireless worker, and I spend most of my time in the gym putting up shots, dribbling through cones, lifting, and doing plyometric work. I started varsity as a freshman, and I've been a captain since my sophomore year. Since my varsity campaign began, I've had to adapt to different roles to meet my team's needs. For example, I was our main scoring option my sophomore year, but I ran the show and set up my teammates in my junior year. I am a great ball handler with quick hands, as shown by my two records for All Time Steals in a Season in Ohio. I am great at creating shots for both myself and teammates. I lead my team and control the game at the PG, setting the tone both offensively and defensively.
My work ethic on the court carries over into my academic life. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout my tenure at Georgetown, and I've scored a 31 on my ACT. I'm an aspiring Pre-Med student, and I really want to make a significant impact on people's lives daily. I also volunteer my time in numerous different places. I aid in my library's Summer Reading Program, which focuses on teaching young children the importance of reading. I volunteer at the Southwest Regional Medical Center. I have become increasingly involved in my church. These are just a few ways in which I feel I exemplify the character of an Athleader.
I feel that my résumé makes me a strong candidate for many college teams. I'm keeping all of my options open, and I really want to find the perfect fit that brings the best four year educational and athletic experience. I'm excited to be engaging with coaches, and I can't wait to find the perfect fit!
