Carson Papay '25 Recruiting Profile

     I fell in love with the game of basketball at a very young age when my Mom shared her passion for it with me.  I’ve been dribbling two balls at once since I was three and have been playing longer than I can remember.  I have played many sports, but in my high school career have focused on basketball and football, lettering in both my freshman and sophomore seasons. I have always faced the adversity of playing up a grade and being the youngest on the team. However, I grew the most as a player my sophomore year when our 4A school got moved into a region with 5A and 6A schools. Although the level of competition was much greater, my stats still improved. 

     I’ve played AAU basketball for the last seven years and for the last four, I was invited to play on the area’s  most prestigious team. One of my biggest accomplishments was being named captain as a sophomore. After freshman year I was one of only two sophomores named on District 10’s list of top 50 returning players.  I was in the top 20 in the district in 3-point field goal makes last season. My love for the game extends beyond playing as I wish to become a high school educator and basketball coach. Although I am proud of the accomplishments I have made in just my first two seasons of high school basketball, it is my dream to work hard enough to play in college.
