Hayes Pounds '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello, 

My name is Hayes Pounds. I’m a 6’2, 175 pound Junior point guard and team captain for St. Michael’s Catholic Academy in Austin ranked as the #63 overall prospect in my class (2024) per prephoops and one of the top 8 guards in the state according to rivals.com (http://rivals.com/). I have achieved all of this while maintaining a 3.7/4.0 GPA at one of the most rigorous academic schools in the region. I am passionate about my academics and have a strong interest in pursuing a STEM-related degree for undergrad. 

I am a born leader and have a quantifiable effect on the win column of whichever team I am leading. I am not concerned with individual accolades, although I have received some, my base desire is to win basketball games by amplifying the skills of those I share the court with. I strive to be everything coaches might look for in both a traditional floor general, while also utilizing modern basketball theory and training with the help of my amazing coaches and trainers, all of whom would second these sentiments and jump at the opportunity to speak to you about me.
