I was a part of the best freshman and sophomore teams in Marcus basketball school history but during that time and this year, my junior year, the game of basketball has taught me much more than how to be great on the court. My coaches taught me that the lessons basketball can teach you applies to life all the time. Adversity during a game, commitment to the sport, and trust in a teammate all applies to the real world. After I grasped that idea I had a different perspective on basketball, learn from any lesson it teaches you and apply it to your life and on the court.
After my freshman year, I was told I would not make the team next year if I did not improve my game. That summer I worked as hard I could to make myself better as a player and ended up making the team and my teammates and I also ended winning 1st place in the district. After that wake up call in my freshman year my work ethic has changed for the better, because I know not to take the opportunity I have for granted. I am interested in pursuing a career in Economics, therefore I am looking for a school that is the right fit for me academically and athletically. I know I have the work ethic, commitment, and talent to positively impact the program.
