I am an honors student with an outgoing, quick-witted, and jovial personality with a wide variety of interests outside of school and who always tries to lead by example.
Education is of utmost importance and has always been stressed at home. My goal is to pursue a degree in engineering. I envision my college experience to be a period for personal growth. Playing and excelling in college will require commitment and hard work, and I am determined to contribute the time and dedication to achieve my academic goal while excelling on the court. It will not always be easy, but I will always welcome/face the challenges!
As a player and as a person, I always give 100 percent in order to reach a target and set myself apart from others. My motto: Be the best I can be- on and off the court!
I truly enjoy playing basketball…winning even more. The sport has taught me about discipline, leadership, responsibility, and the concept of team. As such, I have learned that ‘little’ actions, which sometimes may go unnoticed (a proper screen, an assist, a rebound, taking a charge, cheering for your teammates…playing smart), are just as crucial to winning as a 2- or 3-pt shot.
As a PG, I manage the game based on the situation. I have superior ball-handling an defensive skills, great court vision, and excellent passing ability. On the basketball court, I am crafty around the rim and excel at creating shots- for myself and my teammates- (from short, mid, and long ranges). Additionally, my size and length, allow me the ability to rebound (defensively and offensively).
As a leader of the team, I constantly encourage and motivate my teammates to be the best and also expect them to hold me accountable. Their feedback gives me the fuel to work even harder. I am a good listener and constantly seek guidance on how to become a better player and person.
I am extremely fortunate to have parents- a family- who are caring and provide endless support. I am extremely proud of my background and forever grateful.
Many things are out of our control in life…character is not one of them. Most importantly, I conduct myself with honor and respect on-and-off the court, knowing that my behavior reflects my family, my team, my coaches, and the school I attend.
