Efren Garza '22 Recruiting Profile

                                       I am Efren Garza, a senior at James Madison High School in San Antonio Texas. I will finally be given the OPPORTUNITY to play varsity basketball as a starter. I  feel that I was patent as I waited throughout my high school years to be able to finally be a starter. I knew I was capable but I respected my coaches how they seemed the older players at a higher grade level were the ones to be the main guys on that team. So the past three years I started on my freshman team scoring 19-25 points a game and my sophomore year I started and scored 25-30pts a game and my junior year I scored my high of 39points . I have always been one of the main players on my team. However, I am the most humble, team player and coachable player.  I feel it is important to have these characteristics not only about being a super star player but you are representing a team, that school so the respect you have not only for yourself but for others has to be just as important than to just be that great basketball player. Basketball is a team sport it is not a individual sport, in order to have a successful team to not only make it to the championship game but to win that ship you need to have great athletes, who know their game and who work together with each other and with the coaching staff. 

                     I feel that I am a develop basketball player with skillsets that standout among other basketball players. When I walk in the gym I may not be the strongest, tallest or that player that catches the eye of the coaches because I am just an ordinary 6'3 180 lbs. When I  start playing I then get noticed and am fun to watch play. I can shoot anywhere on the court, especially my free throws and my 3point shot. I am a well developed basketball player, I am ready for college ball to play at another level. I hope coaches take the opportunity to see some of my highlights I have and will follow me on twitter this upcoming season. 

                  I have been playing since age 4, I  am ready to use the talent that God gave me. I will not allow the talent I  know and have been told I have to go to waste.  I have always said I am going to college to obtain my bachelor degree. I want to not only go to college but I want to graduate after 4 years and while seeking my degree I want to play basketball. There is no reason why I should not be given the opportunity to receive a scholarship for both my academics and athletic ability. I have goals set and these goals have been set for years. As here now in my senior year my goals have not changed they have just become more reachable. I  do not fear that I wont receive a offer. It is about time, patience, effort, free will, and commitment. I have to just work hard this upcoming basketball season. Good things come to those who have patience, faith, hope and most importantly God. I know what I want and what I am capable to do on that court. It is just about giving opportunity one and the rest is owning it.
