Playing on the varsity basketball team at Stevens High School for my sophomore, and junior year was a big eye opener for me. Not only did the experience help my excel my skills, it also helped my gain confidence, and motivation in myself to want to be better. Both years playing for the team, I was not where I wanted to be, athletically or academically. Family issues played a big role in to why I wasn't at my expectations, but I had to overcome the negatives, and push for a better outcome. This upcoming year (2020-2021), is my senior, and final year in high school, where I will be attending McCollum High School and I'm doing everything in my power to be the best player I can be. With extra training, practices, and club season basketball, I'm trying to get ready, and hopefully play basketball at the collegiate level.
Playing basketball with my high school team, and my AAU team, has helped me gain characteristics that better me, not only as an athlete, but as a student. I learned the characteristics of working hard, being a team player, and most importantly, being a leader, on and off the court. Yes there is always room for improvement, and I do want to drastically improve on my skills, but I believe in myself, that I have the ability to play college basketball. I'm looking for a program that will be the best for me athletically, and also academically. I'm ready for the challenge, and commitment that will come along with college basketball, and I'm ready to be apart of a team who's willing to welcome me!
