My name is Austin Timperman looking for an opportunity to become a valued member of a new basketball program. Please review the film I have attached. I am a 6’10” sharpshooter that can not only drill three pointers consistently, but can play shut down defense. I played D1 basketball at UT San Antonio the past two years. I am a redshirt walk-on sophomore that has three years of playing eligibility left. I am a business major with a 3.3 GPA. I have followed the current transfer portal protocol and I am eligible immediately. I believe in working hard on the court, in the classroom and in the community. I have been acknowledged for my work in the classroom through Conference USA and my volunteer hours. I am confident that I could be a strong building block for a championship foundation. My parents raised me, my brother and sister with a never quit mindset. I have a farming community type work ethic to fight through the toughest of challenges. I would appreciate a chance to demonstrate my skills with a workout. If your scholarship offers are limited at this time, I would be open to a walk on position to prove my worth. I would value a chance to speak and showcase my abilities.
Thank you for considering and I hope to speak soon
My name is Austin Timperman and I am a 6’9” shooting forward from The Woodlands, Texas. I have been told by many that I am one of the very best shooters in the country. I am currently entering my Senior Year at The Woodlands High School outside of Houston, Texas. I am a multi-sport athlete that has excelled in both basketball and baseball. I can shoot and dribble well with both hands. I can play all positions on the floor and love playing a smothering trapping defense from the top of the key. I am very supportive of my teammates, like to have fun and bring a positive energy every day. I have good grades and understand the need to grind in school as well as on the court. I work hard in the gym every day to improve my strength and speed. My Head Basketball Coach, Dale Reed, describes me the following way....
Austin is a 6'9" stretch 4 man with a very good 3 point shot. He can get his shot off over most defenders with ease. He is also very good at scoring in many ways like drives, cuts, put backs, and he uses both hands really well. He reads screens really well, and can score using off ball screens. He currently has been focusing on scoring off of offensive rebounds and putting more focus on being a 7-8 rpg player. Austin has a big upside and his best basketball is ahead of him. As a student Austin does a great job in the classroom and always takes care of his grades. He is a great kid that looks to help in the community whenever he can and continually wants to get better at whatever he is doing
I am fortunate and thankful that my parents have made many sacrifices to help me improve my skills. I am looking forward to college and being an active member of my community.
