Personal Statement
I am Brandon Privette from Isle Of Wight Academy. My entire life I have tried to make sure my priorities have been in the correct order. My first priority is my relationship with the Lord. Second is family. Third would be academics and after that, sports. Basketball has been my favorite sport from a very young age and I have always set my goals high and worked hard to be the best that I can be. I have discovered along the way that as long as I keep these priorities in this particular order, I make the right decisions and therefore receive the right consequences. I work hard, whether I'm on the construction job or on the basketball court. I know that if I'm not working as hard as I can then I'm not doing and being my best. I take basketball practice very serious. I am considered a leader on my team and I take that title to heart. It is my responsibility to set examples in the area of skill, teamwork and attitude. Someone told me a long time ago that the harder you work in practice, the easier the games come. I have taken that to heart and always do whatever I can to make sure I give 110% on the practice floor. The ability to drive and give all the effort you can cannot be taught, its either part of who you are or not. My father was a D1 football athlete and fortunately his athletic ability has passed down to me! I believe that I am a natural athlete and have played and excelled at a variety of sports. One of my long term goals is to be a coach whether it be at a high school, college or professional level. I want to major in Human Ecology and learn the many different aspects of coaching. I know that I have what it takes to make a positive impact on the basketball court and I desire to do so at the college level. Being successful to me is not necessarily winning consecutive championships. It does however mean doing everything you possibly can to be the best athlete you can possibly be. I am the first in the gym and the last one to leave. Knowing that a close game always comes down to free throws I make sure I am the one the team wants on the line at the end of the game. Thanks for reading my statement and I hope I've provided you with a little more insight into who Brandon Privette really is!
