Personal Statement
Commitment and dedication! That is the foundation of my character. Growing up as a military child, I have developed many characteristics that sets me apart from other student athletes. Moving around a lot has taught me how to adapt to, and overcome difficult situations. I have learned to face challenges head-on, and never leave a job undone. My parents had very busy schedules, this has forced me to become more independent and self-sufficient. I could not wait for people to do thing for me, I had to be responsible and make them happen on my own. I have lived in many locations, stateside and oversees; and because of this I have the unique ability to fit in and make friends with people of many races and cultures. Lastly, my experiences have taught me that team work is vital to the success of a mission; regardless of what that mission is.
All of these life lessons have molded me into the perfect candidate for a fitting athletic program. My dedication to being the very best is the thing the guides my work ethic. On the court, I strive to be the best teammate I can possibly be. I do not consider my self a scorer, passer, defender or rebounder. I am whatever my team needs me to be because I can do it all. I don’t need the glory because I would rather have the victory. I make great decisions with the ball, and I am always looking for the best opportunity to score even if that mean passing to someone else. Defense is my strongest attribute, I love one-on-one matchups against the best player because I look forward to pushing myself to be the best.
I look forward to attending college as a student athlete because at the end of the day, that’s what I am a student athlete. Thank You and see you soon.
