Hello my name is Justin Bliesner and I am a junior at Homestead High School. I play both basketball and volleyball at a varsity level. This past season in volleyball I was awarded 2nd team all conference and was 4th in the state in blocks on the year. Apart from being an athlete I am a student first and always put my education above everything else. The class I’m most passionate about is my Civil Engineering and Architecture where we design and model houses on our 3D software application. Back on the court, coaches would describe me as honest, hard working and coachable. I am not afraid of making mistakes as it is a sign of pushing oneself.
I want to play basketball in college because it is more than just a game to me but a way of life. It is an easy way to meet new people and have fun experiences on the road with family. In fact we have been traveling around ever since my sister played volleyball. She later committed to the next level at NJIT, a DI school in New Jersey. Hearing from her experiences I know college can push me to excel on and off the court, knowing that there is always something I can improve upon.
