Personal Statement

Being a student-athlete, I believe that one must have great qualities on and off the field; whether that be hard work and determination in the classroom, the constant grind on the field and in the gym, or volunteering for one's community or places of worship. I possess all of these characteristics; I am always trying to better myself and be the best in everything. The most outstanding attributes are my motor, drive, and determination. When my eyes are set on something, I am laser-focused to accomplish my goal with a plan, passion, endurance, and perseverance.

Training

  • Weight Lifting
  • 1 year
  • I started lifting weights in the middle of Eight grade and have been lifting 3 or 4 times a week ever since. Last year I gained 30 pounds, and grew an inch, this year I have hopes of hitting 220 by next season.
  • Rowing
  • 4 years
  • I started rowing in 7th grade, at the end of 7th grade I moved to the high school team, and immediately was a competitor for best boat. Rowing has 4 seasons in a year, so I participated in 16 seasons. Rowing is a 4 season sport but I do not know if I will continue rowing as often due to covid 19.
  • Football
  • 4 years
  • I played football fourth, fifth, and sixth grade. I took a break because I wanted to try new sports. I started to row, but then this year I decided I will try for the team. I did and it greatly reignited the passion for the sport.
  • Basketball
  • 1 year
  • This year because rowing was cancelled I decided I might as well go out for the basketball team. I am an athlete, very adaptive, smart, and I catch on quickly.

Additional Sports

  • Rowing

  • My Boat took virtual nationals in the U17 8+ category. I was also the fastest rower in the U15 category in the world for three months.
