My name is Zein Mahana, and I am part of the Class of 2023 from Princeton High School in Princeton, New Jersey. In the eight years that I have been diving, I have competed in many USA and AAU diving competitions and have increased my degree of difficulty each year, while challenging myself to learn new dives. Since 2018, I have been coached by Fredrick and Leslie Woodruff as a member of the LOB diving club team. Unfortunately, our team was unable to train in the Rutgers facility from March 11, 2020 to September 19, 2021 due to COVID19. Our coaches were able to secure time at other facilities to train one meter during the summer months, however we were unable to train three meter until six weeks before the 2021 AAU Nationals. In spite of these limitations, I was still able to execute my list of dives and make finals on both one meter and three meter.
As a student, I push myself by taking AP and advanced courses. Although I am still working through my junior year, I completed my sophomore year with a weighted GPA of 3.73. I intend to continue taking challenging courses and maintain my focus on my academics throughout high school and college.
