Personal Statement
As I embark on this journey of finding the right college and team for myself, I envision my college years to be filled with growth and challenge, resulting in a stronger athlete and contributor. I will bring these three key things to college - both on and off the course.
(1) Hard work -- the outcome of my work is always a reflection of who I am, so I give it my all. I am hopeful to have a career that is greatly influenced by my education as well as golf, so they both are an incredible priority for me. I have learned how to overcome any daily challenge through my investment in the mental game of golf. I am able to reset after a hurdle (or bad hole) by believing in myself, embracing the challenge, and allowing myself to mentally start over.
(2) Integrity -- I conduct myself with honor and respect on and off the course. My high school years at a Jesuit school taught me to be the man I want to be, and taught me that my character is reflected in everything I do. I have been inspired by my coach, Mr. Craig Rogers, who leads by example and exudes patience, moral strength, focus, and responsibility. He will be a lifelong mentor and I hope to emulate his integrity and leadership.
(3) Sportsmanship -- my teammates are my brothers. I am committed to supporting them, pushing them to grow, and engaging with them in all aspects of my life. Spending my high school years in an all-boys academic setting, allowed me the time I needed to mature and realize what an honor it is to be a part of a team.
I look forward to my years in college as a stepping stone to becoming a respected professional. I am eager to be a part of a school and a team that continues to push me to be a strong man and athlete.
