Personal Statement

Hi Coaches!

My name is Lillian (Lilly) Moyer and I am a member of the National Honor Society in the class of 2024 at Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora, Colorado. I have been coxing for four seasons with Mile High Rowing Club and love so many aspects of this sport. While I enjoy coxing fast boats and winning medals in regattas, the camaraderie and friendships with my teammates are what I love the most. Coming from a background of musical theater and show choir, I started crew with a bold personality that has made me confident in getting the attention and respect of my rowers. I am a hard worker focused on success both athletically and academically. I am our Men's team captain in 2023/24, was selected to represent our club to cox at The Head of the Charles, I was awarded the Dean’s Gold Star (GPA>4.0), I was cast as the lead in our school musical, and I was selected to attend both the Women's and Men's U19 US Rowing Olympic Development Program Youth Development camps this summer. The determination and focus I have developed while rowing, whether it's barely over freezing or having to wet launch for an entire season, is also evident in my academic performance. I have taken eight AP as well as multiple Honors classes thus far, earning a 4.2 GPA. My Junior year was my toughest and best yet - with a 4.55 GPA including several AP and Honors courses. I have continued that focus and success in my Senior year, with a first semester GPA of 4.52. I am supported my Club's coaches in Learn to Rows and our technical training program last summer. I will continue to challenge myself academically for the remainder of my Senior year with additional AP and Honors classes. I am looking forward to the Central Youth Regionals this spring, and hope to earn a spot at Youth Nationals. I would be an amazing candidate for your collegiate rowing team!

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
