Personal Statement

**UPDATE** I had a successful Junior season although I still have work to do.  I have continued as the #1 on the Strasburg HS Golf team as a Junior. My Junior Season ended with finishing 13th at State Championships ALL STATE Colorado 2nd Team ,T1 @ Regional ,1st Patriot L Championship, 4-Runner ups, 9 top 5's, Bob Estes AJGA Prev Abilene,TX., 3rd Ranked Junior Iwannamaker 3A Rankings , 2nd pl Optimist Intl. Qualifier 19' earned the MVP for SHS of a scoring average of 75.3 for the HS season, my current GHIN is 1.4.  My low round for the year was 71 but had several rounds below 75.  The best round of the season was both in the Patriot League Championship which I WON and a First place Tie at Regionals. I look forward to playing at Trump International at Doral in July and also The Tour with the Junior Golf Alliance of Colorado and some AJGA events this summer.   My main goal is to play college golf at All levels and I look forward working with my swing coach Dustin Miller and having a strong spring/summer season prior to my Senior year.  Please contact me if you think I would be a good fit for your golf program, I look forward to talking to you and how my academics and golf can be a part of your University! #futurecollegegolfer Thank you for keeping up with my profile!

**PREVIOUS(after Sophomore year) Progress made

I am determined to become a competitive college golfer at the highest level my academics and game will take me. My dreams take me to the Division I, DII , NAIA level and I am working hard to achieve this level by the end of my high school career as I know I have a lot of work to do. I had a good season in my first year as a freshman as I became the first freshman from Strasburg HS to qualify for the CO 3A State Tournament and ended up achieving Honorable Mention in the very competitive Patriot League.  I qualified #2 on my team going into my freshman season, played #3 for my first 4 tournaments before being moved up and earning the #2 spot.  My scores have steadily come down and I look forward to a big jump in improving my scores this coming spring into summer season.  I improved my GHIN average almost 13 strokes from the spring of 2018 to the final round of the State tournament. I maintained a 4.0 average in my classes the first semester as I take my grades very seriously and have learned from my parents how important the meaning of Student Athlete is.  In addition I play basketball and will run track this spring as I believe being an all around athlete will help my golf game even more as I get older and stronger. I continue to work on my swing going to lessons with Dustin Miller Golf and have the fortune of having access to the Trackman system. We constantly work on small improvements each week for preparation for the spring season.  I can't wait to get better and see some results from my winter workouts! I appreciate my parents support in trying to reach my goals and the 2019 season will be a big one for me.

Events

  • Camp/Event
  • CHSSA 3A Boys State Championships
  • 10/05/20 to 10/06/20
  • I felt very confident going into the first round and didn't play as I wanted finishing with 78 and in 21st place. I played a little better the second day with a 3 hole birdie train going into the 18th hole which is a very tough finishing hole and it got me a little bit as I ended up tripling the hole and shot an 76 and ended in 13th place. I easily would have finished in the top 10 had I just parred 18 but unfortunately that didn't happen. I am very motivated to right this wrong and finish with the high goal of Winning in 2021. I am working hard everyday to improve my chances.
  • Camp/Event
  • CHSSA 3A Northern Regional
  • 9/21/20 to 9/21/20
  • I finished in a 1st place tie but lost in a playoff unfortunately. I had a 1 shot lead with 2 to go and I finished with a bogey and par and went to the playoff. I was in position to win but missed my 20 footer and the other Senior made his 20 footer. Still proud as no other player from my school has ever been in position to win a Regional.
  • Camp/Event
  • JGAC Tour Event
  • 9/19/20 to 9/20/20
  • I finished in 5th with a 76, 71 for my first top five in the JGAC Tour series.

  • Camp/Event
  • Notah Begay National Junior Regional

  • I Qualified for my first Major finishing 3rd with a 72.
  • Camp/Event
  • AJGA Bob Estes Preview
  • 7/09/20 to 7/10/20
  • I have never played in Texas prior but did what I could to adapt to new grass, heavy humidity, new conditions. Not a great first day of a dreaded 80 but rebounded a little bit with a 76 to finish. At least I had an opportunity to play in a National Event and actually meeting PGA Legend Bob Estes!
  • Camp/Event
  • Optimist International Junior Golf Qualifier
  • 10/26/19 to 10/27/19
  • I finished in 2nd place and qualified for the tournament at Trump International at Doral in July 2020! I played well both days considering the cold and windy conditions. This was the strongest field I have played in since the Colorado Amateur this past summer and it was a great rebound from not playing well at State.
  • Camp/Event
  • Colorado 3A Boys State Golf Tournament
  • 10/07/19 to 10/08/19
  • I prepared well but unfortunately didn't play to my ability. I learned a great deal and look to rebound in 2020.
