My name is Parker Maulding, and I have been playing golf for eight years. I am part of the Chicopee Woods Academy, a year-long program. In this program, I play on the course once a week, with two golf lessons per week that include both golf and mental and physical training. I played for three years in the junior PGA program. Last year, as a freshman, I played on the varsity men's golf team and was the number one seed for the team. I enjoy golf because it gives me challenges every day, and I get to use the math skills I have learned in school.
While golf is fun and important to me, I am looking for a college not only to play golf but to earn a good education. Aside from golf, my interest is in engineering and agriculture. I enjoy building and working on my grandparent's farm. I am actively involved in Church and have had the opportunity to volunteer to pack boxes for the food bank and many local mission work. I was inducted after my freshman year to be on the National Honor Society club. This was a huge accomplishment and one that I was honored to achieve.
Whether it is Golf or my education, I work hard at everything. I have put a lot of hard work in both, and I thrive on the challenges I have faced and work hard to achieve my goals.
