Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Ben Kiesel. I plan to attend a highly selective college to challenge myself academically and athletically. I have played a variety of sports growing up and in the last two years realized that golf is my passion.

I believe I possess a variety of characteristics that are important to be successful as I continue my academic and athletic journey. I have grown up around many great leaders and I value leadership and consider myself a leader, therefore I have taken on many leadership roles throughout high school career. My best accomplishment to date is being voted president of the Teens for Life club as a junior.

My parents were both college athletes and naturally exposed me to a variety sports. They taught me a healthy level of competitiveness that I have taken to the golf course. I quickly learned that in golf I had to balance my emotions with my strong desire to win.

Honestly, I did not play a substantial amount of competitive junior golf. However, as a sophomore I made my varsity team and we qualified for our state competition. I was disappointed in my performance. Letting my teammates and myself down still resonates with me and has motivated me to fully commit myself to reach my potential. As I mature, I am confident that my best competitive golf is ahead of me and I am excited about the challenges of being a student-athlete.

Also, I have access to Tuition Exchange.org and the CIC Tuition Exchange programs.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
