Personal Statement
My freshman year, I was fortunate enough to be a part of a great team with two senior team captains. These two seniors became my mentors, as they helped me build a better character, attitude, and outlook on the game of golf. That year, we were the debatably the best team in our conference, however, we did not make it past our Sectional Tournament during the post season. This experience and hardship is helping me grow as a player through every new experience I am faced with, while playing the game of golf. The talent I was exposed to at just the sectional level, along with tournaments I have played in the summer, have been pushing me to become the most competitive player I can be.
Since that season, I have become more serious about my craft. I have enrolled with a couple of instructors, developing consistency in driving, shots from 150 yards and in, and finally my mental strength. Off of the course, I have taken long strides to better my grades and my skill. I began weight lifting and fitness training to become stronger and more consistent, and I have taken more control over my education by practicing time management. Lastly, my extensive time put into team sports have developed my team chemistry and my leadership skills, as I was named a team captain on our school’s tennis team as a junior. With my determination, grit, and leadership skills, I know I can fit into your team and become an asset to success.
