Personal Statement
I began playing golf at the age of 3 and began playing competitively at 8 years old. It was through competition that I really discovered why I love golf, other than being a way to spend time with my dad and get away from my 4 sisters. Preparing for an event, testing my skills against others, facing adversity during a round, having to fight through that adversity on my own and grind out a score even on days when I don’t have it, shooting a personal best—those are the reasons I love golf. The challenges faced and the feeling of accomplishment when those challenges are overcome (shooting a final round 66 after opening with 79 at 2021 State Jr, moving from 45th to 5th).
I am committed to playing golf at the college level. I enjoy competing, am a good teammate, and look forward to continuing to build my golf and academic resume for the remainder of high school. I am focused on finding the right college fit—one where I can excel athletically and academically, where I can complement existing team members and contribute, and where coaches take a keen interest in the development of their players in golf and in life.
