Hayden Carter '24 Recruiting Profile

Hi coaches, my name is Hayden Carter.  I am 17 years old and a senior in high school.  My goals are to receive a good education while playing golf.  I want to learn from my coaches as well as other players, and be able to grow and improve my golf game. 

What makes me different is that I only golfed recreationally through the ninth grade.  Until then, I had played baseball.  As a sophomore, I played my first competitive golf.  I averaged 105 per 18 that year.  After that season, I set three goals for myself: improve iron accuracy, chipping and putting.  I improved in all three areas my junior year, as I averaged 15 strokes better in league play.  During this summer, I participated in the Jackson Junior Tour, and I averaged 82 in these events, which is a 20-25 stroke improvement over last year.  This improvement is the result of my dedication and hard work over the past year.  I am particularly proud of my improvement in putting, where I averaged just under 36 putts per 18 holes for the year.

Academically, I am equally proud of my achievement.  I have maintained a 3.3 grade average through-out high school.  I am currently undecided as to what major to pursue.

I know that I am getting a late start in the recruiting process.  But I believe my hard work and love for the game as shown by the improvement in just one year deserves a look.  With your help, I will work hard to continue to improve to reach the level you need to help your team.  I look forward to hearing from you.
