Personal Statement

As a student-athlete, my collegiate goals are to achieve success both on the course and in the classroom. I am always working on improving my weaknesses, and am willing to do as much work as it takes to get the job done. Aside from the hardwork—I always maintain a positive mindset when it comes to golf and academics, rarely getting down on myself, and if it does happen, I always make sure to catch myself and correct my mindset back to a calm and focused place.

  • JBCC Club Championship
  • 7/30/22 to 8/07/22
  • Even Par 72. Took medalist honors in stroke play out of 40. Top 16 guys advance to match play which concludes next weekend. R16: Won 6&4. R8: Won 1 Up. Semifinals: Won 4&3. In the finals I played Joe Poznak and after 36 holes we were AS. Missed a 2 and 1/2 footer on 38 to close the match and proceeded to lose to a par on hole 40. • Camp/Event
  • MET Junior Championship
  • 7/19/22 to 7/21/22
  • 81-72–153. Missed the cut. Practice rounds were canceled and I had never played golf in NY or Long Island and struggled early with turf interaction and different rough but I adjusted by the second round to bounce back with a much more respectable score. Par 70 | 6400 yards | 71.1 rating | 136 slope
  • Camp/Event
  • New Jersey State Amateur Championship
  • 7/11/22 to 7/13/22
  • 76-77--153. T-45 out of 93. Missed the cut by 1 shot. Played solid golf all day round one but fell apart my last two holes finishing double, bogey from simple mistakes. Round two I started off very poorly and found myself +7 thru 11 but managed to throw some birdies coming in to card a -1, 35 on my inward nine but I still came up one short of advancing to the final day. I'm not terribly displeased with my performance as this is a field with the best of the best from NJ and I found myself keeping up with/beating D1 players and high level mid-amateurs(Drogin, Stamberger etc.) Par 72 | ~6800 yards | 73.4 rating
  • Camp/Event
  • Junior Section Championship
  • 6/27/22 to 6/28/22
  • 78-79--157. T-38 out of 105. Played solid the first day but had a single bad hole on my sixteenth of the day where I pumped one OB and made a quad. Made the cut by two shots and struck the ball much worse the second day but tried to hang around as best I could. Par 72 | ~6300 yards
  • Camp/Event
  • Met Junior Championship Qualifier
  • 6/20/22 to 6/20/22
  • Shot 75. T-12 out of 47 players. Made the cut(top 13 and ties) and advancing to the Met Junior Championship hosted by St George’s G&CC on Long Island next month. Par 72 | 6278 yards | 70.5 rating | 127 slope
  • Camp/Event
  • State Amateur Qualifier
  • 6/07/22 to 6/07/22
  • Shot 75. T-19th out of 122 players. Made the cut. The top 24 and ties advance to the NJ State Am(75 was the number), so I am moving on to the State Am at Rockaway River CC next month to compete with the best amateurs in the state! Struck the ball solid and had solid lag putting but didn't really make much outside of 10-15 feet, otherwise this round would've been lower. Par 72 | ~6600 yards
  • Camp/Event
  • Monmouth County Tournament
  • 4/13/22 to 4/13/22
  • Shot 72. 2nd out of 111. Good conditions, warm day with 10 mph winds and solid greens. Started my round +3 thru 4 and went -4 my next 12. Had 25 feet for birdie on 17 hit the putt to 2 and 1/2 feet and it lipped out and shot 20 feet down the hill but made the come backer for bogey. Felt like I needed birdie on 18 but my 9 iron from the fairway came up 30 feet short on the front and missed it. Winner shot 71. Par 72 | 6321 yards | 70.5 rating | 130 slope
  • Camp/Event
  • Garden State Cup
  • 4/06/22 to 4/06/22
  • Shot 79. T-22 out of 98. Course was in brutal shape after taking record rain the past few days and it rained right up until we teed off. 55° and 10-15 mph winds. Was going okay, +2 thru 14, when I hit one OB and put the next one in the trees and made a quad, followed by a 3 putt, followed by a missed 3 footer for birdie to end my round +5 my last 4. I got frustrated with that quad and let it get to me. Par 72 | 6619 yards | 70.8 rating | 130 slope
  • Camp/Event
  • Wall Invitational
  • 4/04/22 to 4/04/22
  • Shot 77. T-4 out of 105 players. Cold and windy day in early April. Struck the ball very well but struggled with putting and a few poor chip shots. 36 putts(including putts from fringe). 2 birdies, 9 pars, 7 bogies. Par 72 | 6133 yards | 70.5 rating | 134 slope
  • Camp/Event
  • University Open
  • 8/24/21 to 8/25/21
  • 78-83–161. T-36th out of 76. First day played well on the front 9 and was +2 heading into 14 before making a triple. Day 2 at Rutgers the greens there were terrible—slow, bumpy, soft, and patchy. I 3 putted 6 times day 2. These bad performances will stop now. I’m going to work on my game so that I can play anywhere—whether the course is in horrible shape or great shape. Day 1: 6380 yards | Par 71 | 70.6 rating | 130 slope Day 2: 6337 yards | Par 71 | 70.2 rating | 131 slope
  • Camp/Event
  • Junior Event at Forest Hill
  • 8/17/21 to 8/17/21
  • Shot 81. 7th out of 48 players. Course was playing very tough and wind was exceeding 20 MPH. Chipping was very poor and I didn’t get up and down at all, but I have put in lots of work at my chipping since then and have improved. 1 birdie, 8 pars, 7 bogies, 2 doubles. Par 71 | 6282 yards | 71.2 rating | 131 slope
  • Camp/Event
  • Junior Event at Essex Fells
  • 8/16/21 to 8/16/21
  • Shot 77(+4). T6th out of 54 players. Played the front nine at 4 over and finished solid with an even par back nine. The par 5s were gettable but I made 0 birdies on par 5s and failed to get up and down from 70 and in many times. 3 birdies, 9 pars, 5 bogies, 1 double. Par 73 | 6163 yards | 70.7 rating | 133 slope
  • Camp/Event
  • NJPGA Junior Shootout
  • 8/09/21 to 8/10/21
  • 82-81–163. 24th out of 68. Started the first day 5 over thru 2 and battled the rest of the way in. Day 2 I played well on the front carding 38 but then fell to a couple 3 putts on the back and a ball that somehow shot straight right off a root OB resulting in a triple. Only 1 player in the field had more pars then I did throughout the tournament. 23 pars, 10 bogies, 1 double, 1 triple, 1 quadruple. Par 72 | 6517 yards | 72.8 rating | 133 slope
  • Camp/Event
  • NJ Jr. PGA Championship
  • 8/02/21 to 8/04/21
  • 80-75-82–237. T-37 out of 76. Made the cut but didn’t make anything of it with a final round of 82. Putter was ridiculously cold all week, I made 1 putt all week over 5 feet. Hit the ball very well for the tournament. Just the slow, bumpy greens got to me. Par 72 | 6772 yards | 72.6 rating | 128 slope
  • Camp/Event
  • JBCC Club Championship
  • 7/31/21 to 8/08/21
  • 78-78–156. 5th out of 30 players. Qualified for match play. Lost 3 and 2 in the quarter final match. Par 72 | 6573 yards | 72.8 rating | 138 slope
  • Camp/Event
  • Junior Event at Cream Ridge
  • 7/14/21 to 7/14/21
  • Shot 76. T-8 out of 52 players. 90* weather with minimal winds. Had an unfortunate mishap on the short par 5 14th, where my layup shot caught a branch over the right side of the fairway and shot 50 yards right to where we couldn’t find it, I had to take a lost ball and made double. Other then that hole the round went pretty smooth. 3 birdies, 10 pars, 3 bogies, 2 doubles. Par 72 | 6100 yards | 71.6 rating | 127 slope
  • Camp/Event
  • Junior Open at Basking Ridge
  • 7/12/21 to 7/13/21
  • 83-85–168. T-48 out of 79 players. Course was swamped and nearly every hole was casual water. Couldn’t get tee shots together, cost me at least 20 shots. Second round I started off solid(E thru 7), but fell apart and went 10 holes without a par. Par 71 | 6657 yards | 72.8 rating | 136 slope
  • Camp/Event
  • Junior Event at Bella Vista
  • 7/08/21 to 7/08/21
  • Shot 34. T-1 out of 43 players and won match of cards for overall win. The tournament was shortened to 9 holes due to lightning. Didn’t play super well on the back nine but also didn’t finish playing the back. On the front made 1 birdie, 7 pars and 1 bogey. Hit the ball solid and played smart off the tee with mostly irons because it is a short course. Par 70 | 6001 yards | 69.2 rating | 127 slope
  • Camp/Event
  • Junior Event at Oak Hil
  • 7/06/21 to 7/06/21
  • Shot 83. T-9th out of 43 players. 100* weather and 15 MPH winds. 10 pars, 5 bogies, 3 doubles. Only one player made more pars then I did. Really just lost my focus for a stretch of holes after long waits on the tee. Tried to re-gain it late in the back nine, stuck some tight for birdie but couldn’t convert on any of them. My ball striking is improving but I found myself in some tough spots that were hard to get out of. Par 72 | 6396 yards | 70.8 rating | 132 slope
  • Camp/Event
  • Four-Ball Championship
  • 6/30/21 to 7/01/21
  • Shot 69 in best ball with my teammate Patrick Scenna. Shot 74 on my own ball with 5 birdies. 3rd place out of 28 teams. Heat index of 110* with 15 MPH winds. Par 72 | 6214 yards | 70.7 rating | 130 slope
  • Camp/Event
  • Junior Section Championship
  • 6/28/21 to 6/29/21
  • Shot 83. Missed the cut. 95* and 15 MPH winds. 7 over thru 4 holes including a lost ball(triple) that just went over the back of the green and we couldn’t find it oddly. Started the back 9 poorly too going 4 over thru 3 but battled back. 44–39. The first fairway I hit of the day was on the 14th hole. 3 big numbers kept me out of round two where the cut was 80. Par 72 | 6340 yards | 70.6 rating | 129 slope
  • Camp/Event
  • NJ State Am Qualifier
  • 6/16/21 to 6/16/21
  • Shot 86. Missed the cut and didn’t play good. Very firm greens and 20 mph winds. I hit 3 errant tee shots that resulted in blow up holes due to fescue that legitimately surrounds all 18 holes and is 3 feet high. Putting was also problematic today as I recorded 37 putts. Game shows signs of improvement despite the bad score. Looking forward to better rounds in the upcoming summer season. Par 72 | 6839 yards | 73.3 rating | 133 slope
  • Camp/Event
  • Tournament of Champions
  • 5/19/21 to 5/19/21
  • Shot 74. Finished T-26 out of 127. 90* day with a 10 MPH wind. Didn’t hit the ball great and struggled early. Double on my 16th of the day put me to 6 over and I went birdie-birdie finish to ultimately capture our Group 2 state title by 1 shot! ToC always features the top 31 teams in the state. We came in 5th place overall with a 4 man score of 308. Par 70 | 6400 yards | 71.3 rating | 130 slope
  • Camp/Event
  • Group 2 Central/South State Sectional
  • 5/11/21 to 5/11/21
  • Shot 80. T-5 out of 71 players. Disappointing Individual finish for myself—but our team captured first place and we advance to Tournament of Champions. Hit driver very well, including some 300+ yard drives and 12/14 fairways. Just didn’t have the short game or iron play to go low. Also did not make a putt all day longer then 3 feet. Par 72 | 6550 yards | 70.7 rating | 125 slope
  • Camp/Event
  • Shore Conference Tournament
  • 4/28/21 to 4/28/21
  • Shot 78. T-7 out of 89 players. Warm day(88*) with 15 MPH winds. Had minimal looks at birdie throughout the round and was grinding for pars. Field was comprised of top individuals and teams that qualified through county tournament(Monmouth + Ocean). Par 72 | 6377 yards | 71.0 rating | 127 slope
  • Camp/Event
  • Monmouth County Tournament
  • 4/21/21 to 4/21/21
  • Shot 80. T-14 out of 112 players. Solid conditions, 60-70* and a decent 15 mph sustained wind. Was not a scoring day for me as I made 1 putt outside of 3 feet. I hit a total of 42 putts (4 of them from fringe) and only had 2 holes where my ball wasn’t on the green/fringe for birdie. After 8 holes, I was 6 over and had an uphill battle on the back to shoot a respectable score. My ball striking was fine, just couldn’t get a good grasp of the greens today. Par 72 | 6321 yards | 70.5 rating | 130 slope
  • Camp/Event
  • Blue Devil Invitational
  • 4/19/21 to 4/19/21
  • Shot 75. T-9 out of 105 players. Weather was good, 65* with a 10 mph breeze. Played the ball down everywhere, and rough was pretty thick for early April. I started on 10 and played some good golf—I didn’t really miss any putts or fairways. That led to me carding a -1 35 on my first nine. At that point, I was most likely leading the tournament. However, the next nine I tried to step on it as I thought a couple under would win, and my game didn’t really respond. Bogeyed the first(10th of day), and grinded some lengthy par putts to remain even with 4 holes remaining. Walking up to 6 green with a birdie putt, I was tied for the lead and proceeded to 3 putt, that threw me somewhat off course and I also bogeyed the next. Parred 8 and on 9 hit a shot that landed middle of the green, but rolled through the back. There was a massive false front that filtered about 30 yards down a hill, and on my chip shot from over the back of the green—I thinned it and it rolled down the false front, took me three to get down from there and finished my round off with a double bogey and a +5 40 on my second nine. 71 went to playoff, and I was E thru 14 with those easily preventable mistakes on my last 4. Disappointing finish but a solid round none the less—I’m looking forward to getting more comfortable being under or around par.[This tournament featured the best high school golf programs in the state, most of them private schools, and the competition includes some of the best junior golfers in the state] Par 71 | 6570 yds | 71.5 rating | 128 slope
  • Camp/Event
  • Wall Invitational
  • 4/12/21 to 4/12/21
  • Shot 80. Finished T-8 out of 93 player field. Conditions were extremely tough, rained continuously the day before, was raining during event, 46* and a 18 mph sustained wind. The course had recently aerated the greens as well. Was 7 over after my first 8 holes, including 2 double bogies on back to back holes, but brought it back together for the remaining to play my last 11 at +1 par including some unfortunate breaks. Those two double bogey 7s were unforced errors that resulted in me being 4 shots back of the lead. Par 72 | 6133 Yards | 70.5 rating |134 slope
  • Camp/Event
  • Junior Event at Colts Neck
  • 8/03/20 to 8/03/20
  • Shot 83. 1 Club Wind. 90* weather. Played very poorly on a course that is scorable. Too many 3 putts, doubles and triples. Shot +8 on front nine including triple bogey on the 6th. Back nine brought my composure back but unfortunately kept taking myself out of it, fired 3 birdies on final nine but it was accompanied by 2 preventable mistake doubles along with a triple bogey on the last. Tied for 10th out of 44 players
  • Camp/Event
  • Junior Event at Bella Vista
  • 7/15/20 to 7/15/20
  • Shot 78. Conditions were good, light breeze of 10 MPH. Struggled on front, shot a +5 39, but carded one of the best backs in the tournament. Had opportunities to make this round a 75, but failed to do so. Tied for 12th out of 54 players.
  • Camp/Event
  • NJPGA Junior Open
  • 7/13/20 to 7/14/20
  • 84-83–167, Breezy on both days, 10-20 MPH winds, 1st day was hanging on to scrap for pars, but 2nd day left a lot of shots out on the course, could’ve went much lower but failed to capitalize on day 2. Tied for 34th out of 83 players.

  • MC with an 89, was my worst tournament performance of the year. Had a lot of nerves heading into the event as it was my first junior event I’d ever played, but came out of it optimistic and looking for much better results in further.
