My name is Nick Marsh. My goal is to play college golf.
I attend Friends Seminary School in New York City. I am a serious student with a 3.5 GPA and feel that the rigorous academics at Friends has prepared me well for college. I am particularly interested in Math and Science.
I have always been a good athlete. Before High School I was the captain of my travel soccer team for 3 years. At Friends, I will play 3 years of Varsity Soccer as a starting center back. I enjoy the position because I have a view of the whole game. I also greatly enjoy the camaraderie of sports teams. In fact, during COVID, in 8th grade, I lived and went to high school outside of NYC and made the local high school Varsity Baseball team. I loved it. I played starting shortstop, was a very good hitter and even got to pitch a few times.
My golf career is unique. I played for the first time 2 1/2 years ago and was immediately hooked. I made the Varsity team at Friends my Freshman year and was the first person ever from my school to quality for the NY State Federation Cup. I had only been playing golf for a year. While I have only recently started playing tournaments, I have already seen some success and won 2 of them. However, what makes me unique is my drive and potential. My golf coach said the first time he saw my swing that if someone told him I was shooting in the 60s he would have believed it. My soccer coach has said that I am 'the glue' on the team. And as any of my coaches can tell you, I never get tired - mentally or physically.
I look forward to continuing to develop my game over the next two years and being prepared to play competitively in college.
