Liam Isakov '24 Recruiting Profile

I grew up on a golf course and started swinging clubs very early. Although my dad was very good, he never pushed me and allowed me to do what I wanted to do. This initially was Baseball and violin. Only when the pandemic started did I play more golf. I realized then my love for the game that I did not appreciate earlier. Although I loved baseball, I now regret not concentrating at golf at an earlier age. Baseball did teach me the importance of teamwork, which I think is very important even in an individual team sport. I love being a member of a team whether I’m playing or in the dugout, I am the number one fan of my teammates. 

I believe I have all the tools to be an elite golfer. I am just more of a late bloomer due to my relatively late start in tournament golf. I’m also beginning to understand the golf swing and how trackman numbers are affected by different movements and how to maximize my ability. When I am playing, well, I would put my swing against anybody’s. Although I am relatively small, I still develop excellent clubhead speed, and my short game is solid. I believe I can perform at the next level at any division.
