My name is Zachary Charapp and I am currently at Beth Tfiloh, a small Jewish high school in Baltimore, Md. My current GPA is a 3.8 in the middle of my junior year. Coming into this year I believe I have made extreme strides in my physical and mental growth. Learning to play with a swing change and overcoming the failure accompanied by it has made me more mentally aware of my flaws and how to correct them. However, that was not nearly one of my biggest obstacles I've had to face. Since a young age, I have had to overcome various obstacles. Overcoming my stepfathers death was bar none the most challenging of them all. Since I was 4 years old i have had a club in my hand. However, i gained most interest in the game at the ripe age of 11 years old.
I have learned that life is not fair, and it is not what it seems. In golf, you have to overcome tough breaks and control anger unlike any other sport i’ve played before. Also, there is no one to blame aside from yourself. I wish to graduate high school with a 3.9 GPA and to score a 27 or more on my ACT. I wish to maintain that same GPA throughout my entire college career. When I started to compete in first tournaments, i had not yet hit my growth spurt like other kids. Short game became a must to compete, and i still pride myself on that same aspect today despite the fact that i have grown.
I believe I have an innate ability to hone in on a single target, goal, or task when needed. Whether it is hitting a hero shot from the trees, completing an assignment, or helping a friend out in a time of need, I am your man.
