Braxton Stubbs '25 Recruiting Profile

I aspire to earn a business degree with a minor in marketing which I believe will help me understand the business side of managing a high tier golf club. Understanding the business and technical side of managing a golf course is what I hope to learn in my college career. Beginning my sophomore year of high school, I had to get an eye surgery, and after the procedure, I was recommended to think of a career where I would be outside regularly as this would help my eyes. 

In my life I have been on many teams, from football, baseball, basketball, golf, tennis, and other non sport teams such as scouting, youth groups at my church, marching and jazz band, (I play the trumpet and french horn, and some piano). I've had many leadership opportunities in each of these different fields.  As a freshman on my golf team, I was rookie of the year, and a varsity letter man. As a sophomore I was able to build on my momentum of being the best freshman and had the opportunity to play as the 1 man during one tournament. Playing at this higher level of golf has helped me learn how to score, and handle myself around the other golfers.

Growing up as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, has taught me many core principles about taking care of my mind, body, and spirit. I have learned to stick to my moral compass and be unwavering even if that meant standing alone in certain situations. I am preparing myself to serve a two year mission for my church right after high school. In doing this service, I hope to learn to put others first, and to think of those in need ahead of my own needs. This would help me learn to control my mind, actions, and understand how to keep things in perspective when I am on the course. 

I hope to bring balance, maturity, a competitive fire, and a winning attitude for our team. I feel best when I am playing golf, and love the sport. I look forward to my journey in golf.
