Personal Statement
Vince Lombardi, the Hall of Fame Football Coach once said, "The most important qualification for becoming a champion is an intense burning desire." I certainly have that desire. But perhaps more importantly, I love the game of golf. I love what it teaches me about adversity, personal struggle, challenges on and off the course and life in general. My older brother played baseball for many years and he always said he loved what the game taught him about life outside the lines. There are no chalked lines on a golf course, but there is out of bounds. My character and much of who I am and will become as a player, father, and husband has come thru lessons learned on a tee box, a green or trying to keep it "in bounds". When am I aggressive and when do I play smart?
I am working hard to prepare myself to first, gain a quality college education and secondly, continue to play golf during that college experience. I am a good student and very determined in setting and achieving my academic and golf related goals. I am dedicated to becoming the best student athlete I can. Although I have been playing for many years competitively, I am young in my experiences. There I hope to gain more life lessons to serve me for many years to come.
