My parents introduced me to golf when I was 8 or 9 and I began taking it seriously and putting in a lot of time when I was 13. I was drawn to golf because it challenges me both mentally and physically and I enjoy how the only way to get the results you want is to put in the time and effort. Over the past year my game has improved a lot and my desire to play college golf has grown. My goal is to play golf at a college where I can grow not only as a golfer, but also academically and as a person. One of my favorite aspects of high school and college golf is the team aspect. I think its important to have people to support you and your teammates provide you with that. As a leader on my high school team this past season it was important for me to set the right example and encourage my teammates. I would always stay after practice to play a few more holes or spend time on my short game and my teammates would often see this and join me. These extra hours we put in were a major reason why we achieved our goal of making it to state. If given the opportunity to play golf at the collegiate level my goal is to be a leader and push our team to grow as a whole.
