Personal Statement
I have dreamed of playing a college sport for as long as I can remember. I have been playing golf since I was four years old but I have always been one of those kids that loved all sports. My time was spent jumping from baseball to football to hockey and fitting golf in when I had time off. I have always loved the game of golf but it is just within the past few years that I have come to realize that golf is the game I have a passion for and want to continue to play at the college level. Last year (2013) was the first year that I have focused 100% of my athletic time on golf and I feel I have achieved great things given my limited time in competitive golf, such as 2013 Wisconsin Junior PGA Player of the Year. Because of my accomplishments to date given the quality of competition I am facing, I believe I have just started to scratch the surface of my golfing ability. I am a senior year at Homestead High School in Mequon, Wisconsin. Homestead has an enrollment of approximately 1,400 students and is consistently ranked among the top schools academically in the state and country. My current cumulative GPA is 3.66 (weighted GPA of 4.19) and I expect it to continue to improve. My focus will be to excel in all aspects of the game of golf so I can compete against the top ranked juniors and eventually top ranked college players in the country.
