Personal Statement
I am dedicated to my goal of playing NCAA I hockey. I know that I have the ability to achieve this and all of my dreams. I think about and visualize myself attending a great college and playing hockey there. I also realize that this attitude is the most important part of my success. The rest is just a matter of living out the daily pursuit of my imagined future. My mental approach makes me a curious, adaptable, and resilient student, as well as a highly coachable player. I daily read and listen to books and others sources of information which expand my mind and fuel achievement of my goals. I am especially inspired by stories in history and mythology about heroes who have persevered and overcome adversity to become great and then helped others. My best quality as a player is that I strive to be a diligent, caring, and supportive teammate, and believe this to be the most important hockey skill. My uncle is HHOF goaltender, Grant Fuhr. He has always stressed to me that what made the 80’s Oilers so great was how much they all cared about and supported each other. That made them 5 time Cup Champions and bonds them to this very day. I therefore strive to be that kind of hockey player: an example to my teammates and an important part of a championship program.
